If in doubt about what the esplanade is going to look like when they have finished demolishing all the old houses and building units take a trip to Sydney and check out the Northern Beaches! Breaks ones heart!

G'day Mark,

Firstly I agree with you completley, when I first came to the Bay there were still one or two
nice old Queenslanders, alas gone with the wind.
But have you or any of our councillors thought about traffic on the esplanade, should we ever
have full occupancy?
I still believe continual growth is self destructive, it is worth remembering, we reap what we sow.

I am surprised that we are still allowing more development in the way of units, when we are clearly have more beds in Hervey Bay than we do guests.

Another 500 bed Backpackers, when we have already 11 backpackers struggling to get good occupancy.

2 more unit developments, when we have an already struggling tourism, this year we had more whales than guests, first time I can remember the guests leaving before the whales did.
Isn't it about time we say enough is enough, or are we just going to allow the esplanade to be a 15 klm strip of concrete.
